A trip of Africa for a photo safari was on my retirement bucket list and this trip did not disappoint. It lived up to and exceeded all my expectations. Everything was well organized. The accomodations and food was excellent. The drivers/guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. It was a cultural learning experience and Mark Buckler was able eager to help with any photography questions I might have made. The safari vehicles were as advertised. Unlike the general safaris, everyone had their own seat with plenty of room for their photo gear and ability to photograph whatever wildlife they were exposed to. In short, I would highly recommend anyone looking for a photo safari to Africa to take a good luck at taking one with Mark Buckler.

We had a marvelous time on this well curated trip. From the accommodation in Nairobi to the wonderful camps run by Kicheche, this was comfortable, yet as close to nature as one can get. The food and attention that the staff provided at each camp were top notch and memorable. The guides and photo vehicles provide an overwhelming opportunity to view and photograph the rich diversity and quantity of wildlife as well as the lives of the Masai people who share the conservancies. Mark showed me a number of new techniques and provided commentary regarding angles, lighting, composition and animal behavior to anticipate movement. While working hard to get many great images, there was also time to just enjoy the animals (especially young ones) engaged in very animated interactions. We consider ourselves fortunate to have observed life in motion in the Mara. Of course this fortune is not just by chance as Mark and the guides he works with know the area, understand animal behavior, and thus place us in position to be "lucky". We highly recommend Mark and the itinerary he has fashioned.

Awesome experience, despite the rain, we got some great photos of Ducks, Geese, raptors, beautiful landscapes and more.

Mark Buckler is a master of his craft. Well known wildlife photographer. Certainly well known locally as lots of locals people recognized Mark and came up to talk. But also respected around the world. I learned a lot from him and got sold on shooting manually. Mark knew the entire area implicitly. He know where the birds would be, how they would fly off the lakes and when to catch them in the best light. I imagine he would have the same in depth knowledge in all his workshops. I’ll be going with him to Alaska next but have to wait a year and half to for an opening as his trips are so sought after.

The trip was amazing, great people, incredible bears. Mark is a super host and photographer, incredible knowledge about the grizzly bears which aloud us to get amazing photos. Thanks Mark, can't wait for my next trip with you.
